SMP Pic Of The Day
I know, you’re gasping for air. There hasn’t been an SMP Pic of the Day in quite a while and, while doing them was fun, we’re exactly not bringing them back. No, instead, I simply wish to bring attention to an itty-bitty indie folk out of Toronto, Canada. These kids (and they literally are kids; the medium age must be about 18) have the kind of talent I could only dream of and that older and wiser artists will definitely recognize in time. The band just released their first EP, Rise/Drift/Fall and you can hear a distinct Mumford and Sons sound on songs like “Mr. Marchbanks” and “Charade.” However, for me, nothing compares to “January”, a truly gut-wrenching indie folk ballad. But don’t just take my word for it. Go to their Facebook page here and take a listen. And watch out for these guys because some things are just to good to stay small.
